Academic staff from all the three partner universities will participate in face-to-face teaching of select courses under this project. Faculty from UiA will travel to Mak and UR respectively and vice-versa.

The main intention is to experience the teaching and learning environments at participating institutions as well as peer-mentoring.

This activity will see skills-transfer from the more knowledgeable underpinned by social constructivist and the community of practice theories. Faculty from partner institutions will share the know-how and best practices of transformative pedagogy while advancing the knowledge and expertise on the subject matter.

The visiting faculty will have opportunities to interact with students from a different social-cultural learning context, hence increasing the internationalisation of study programmes on one hand, but also increasing faculty competence to deliver education in a global context.

Expected spill-overs of the joint teaching activities include the extension of collaborative networks for faculty and joint publications based on action research studies regarding teaching and learning methods.

The involved faculty will also participate in joint supervision of students on field studies, project work and work placements in Norway, Uganda and Rwanda respectively. This can also have a positive effect for increased collaboration and partnership between academia and the work environments, which in return can lead to more job recruitment opportunities for students.

Joint teaching and supervision will ensure that the participating students from each of the partner institutions receives the benefits of access to enhanced and harmonized pedagogical practices and tools specific to the structure, content, and delivery of the specific course.
